Hi everyone,
Micro dosing GLPs has suddenly become everywhere. I even saw a national TV ad using the term the other day. It is interesting how quickly a phrase can catch fire. The irony is that the term actually originated in Silicon Valley circles to describe people taking tiny amounts of psychedelics like LSD to improve creativity and focus.
So let us clear the air. Micro dosing GLPs is not new, it is not mysterious, and it is not a trend anyone needs to catch up to.
At MW, it is simply the way we have always practiced. Our entire approach has always been about using the right dose, at the right time, for the right person. No cookie cutter dosing schedules. No rigid idea that everyone increases their dose every week. No one size fits all protocols.
Instead, we build a real relationship with you, pay close attention to your real life patterns, and adjust your medication in ways that support your body, not fight it.
How Micro Dosing GLPs Actually Shows Up in Real Life
Many people assume GLP medications must be taken weekly, forever, on the exact same schedule. But in practice, there is a very wide therapeutic range, and different strategies make sense at different points in the journey. Real life simply does not follow a rigid dosing calendar, so treatment should not either.
Here is what we routinely do at MW, and why it works in the real world.

Less Frequent Dosing As You Get Closer to Your Goal
Many patients stabilize beautifully using GLPs every other week, every three to four weeks, or even monthly. This works especially well once hunger patterns normalize and your metabolic set point shifts.
When your body reaches a comfortable place, it often needs less medication, not more. People are always surprised by how steady their hunger and habits can feel even when doses are spaced out.
Intermittent As Needed Use
Some people benefit from a few weeks on, a few weeks off, and then restarting during periods when structure or appetite support is helpful. This matches the natural ebb and flow of real life.
There are predictable seasons when people feel more stable, and times when they need more support. Intermittent dosing allows the medication to work with those rhythms instead of forcing a fixed pattern that does not fit life.
More Frequent Dosing, But at Lower Amounts
Some patients consistently feel hungrier around day three or day four of their weekly dose. In those cases, we sometimes split the total weekly amount into twice weekly dosing or smaller, more frequent doses.
This often smooths appetite, reduces GI symptoms, and increases comfort. Smaller doses can sometimes work better than larger ones because they reduce peaks and valleys in how the medication feels.
Adjusting Down, Not Always Up
A lot of side effects happen when people push doses too high, too fast, or stay at a level their body does not actually need. Sometimes the solution is very simple. Dose less.
Temporarily decreasing the dose can dramatically improve tolerability and still keep results steady. Many patients feel better, feel more regulated, and experience fewer side effects with a slightly lower dose.

Micro Dosing Is Not a Trend, It Is Good Medicine
The truth is that micro dosing is not a trend at all. It is good medicine. This is how all medicine should work.
- Thoughtful.
- Individualized.
- Responsive.
- Aligned with someone’s physiology, lifestyle, and goals.
And with GLPs, this matters even more. Appetite, digestion, and metabolism are not static. They shift with stress, sleep, hormones, seasons, and life changes. Your treatment should shift with you. A medication that works best when responsive should not be treated as something rigid or mechanical.
So if you have been hearing the term micro dosing and wondering if you should be doing something different, the answer is that you probably already are. If you are working with a clinic that listens, adjusts, and pays attention, then micro dosing is already part of your care.
And if you are curious whether your current dosing pattern could be smoother, gentler, or more aligned with your day to day life, just ask. That is what we are here for.
The Right Clinic Matters As Much As the Right Dose
Just like dosing needs to be individualized, finding the right clinic does too. The place you trust with your care should understand your body, your patterns, and your needs. It should not push you toward unnecessary increases or force you into a schedule that does not fit your life.
Your experience can help someone else make a better decision. If you are open to it, would you leave a quick review. Your words may help someone find a clinic that treats them with the care they deserve.
